The Andrew Stergiopoulos Foundation

The Foundation, in collaboration with the faculty and administration of George Washington University, gives this Award annually to a freshman, sophomore or junior in the GW undergraduate business school. The Award is given to a student who exhibits Andrew’s outstanding qualities, including academic and athletic achievement, leadership and vision. (For more information on Andrew and the Foundation, please refer to the sections of this website titled "Andrew Stergiopoulos" and "About the Foundation.") The Award is cash gift, traditionally in the amount of $2,500, to be used to defray tuition or work-study expenses, for a special research project or to fund study abroad.

The Award was inaugurated in fall 2005, when two GW sophomores received the first two Awards. In spring 2006, a third Award was given to a student at the end of his sophomore year. The Foundation distributed the fourth and fifth Awards at GW at a Scholarship Luncheon on March 28, 2007, and distributed the sixth Award at the GW campus during March of 2008.  Hereafter, the Foundation will distribute additional Awards in the Spring semester of each year.

The Foundation will select each year’s recipient based on an application and faculty recommendation.  Applications for the Andrew Stergiopoulos Scholarship Award will be accepted not later than February 28th.
